Subject: Repersantation on freezing of FCRA Account of INSAF
To: skshinde@sansad.nic.in
To Date:- 7 May 2013
Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde,
Home Minister, GoI – New Delhi
Subject:- Denunciation and
demanding immediate withdrawal of order of Home Ministry to freeze the FCRA
account of Indian Social Action Forum (INSAF) and enquiry there on.
Respected Sir,
Ministry
of Home affairs has issued order to freeze the FCRA bank accounts of Indian
Social Action Forum (INSAF) Katwaria Sarai, New Delhi on 30th of April 2012 and
further ordered enquiry on 2 May 2013. Director of the GoI, an official in the
Home Ministry, Mr. A.K.Sinha communicated to INSAF office in Katwaria Sarai,
New Delhi that INSAF's activities are prejudicial and against public interest
and hence the bank account has been frozen instantly. In case INSAF needs to
spend its fund, it has to take prior permission from the Home Ministry. The
action has been taken under Section 13 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation)
Act 2010 suspending the permanent registration of the association for 180 days
in public interest as has been claimed.
INSAF was
formed after the demolition of Babri Mosque to combat communalism, defend
democracy, particularly to promote and defend the interest of the people and
resist globalization.
As it is
true that INSAF have challenged the new Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act
2010 in the Supreme Court and the new rules formulated by the Home Ministry in which
all democratic action such as rallies, demonstrations, protests etc. are
prohibited. This might be the reason to
act so by the Home ministry.
We live
in a democratic country governed by constitution which provides us rights to
oppose, gather and resist defending our rights with in constitutional
framework. It seems derogatory act of
Ministry to curb the right to freedom.
As we
know that INSAF is a forum which always have been defending democratic rights
of deprive and common men, combating communal design and strengthening secular
spirit of the nation.
Hence we
oppose this prejudice action of your Ministry and demand immediate withdrawal of
this order in the interest of common people and secularism.
Yours,
Guman SinghCoordinator- Himalaya Nitit Abhyan
